Registration Process

We are excited to offer online school registration.

(If enrolling a kindergartener for the Fall of 2021, please go to the Parents tab ~ Kindergarten Registration Process~ for more information)

This is a multiple step process.

First step is to click on the Enrollment Express link.  This link will gather basic student, household and guardian information. The link will then send an alert message to our school; to grant access to PowerSchool for the guardian to complete all necessary forms.

Enrollment Express

Once the staff member has approved this alert, an email will be sent from PowerSchool with instructions on how to create a parent portal account and to complete the necessary forms.  You will also be asked to upload documents for proof of residency, health records, and the birth certificate for the student that you are enrolling.

In order to register for school, the student must physically reside in the East Haddam district.  This includes the towns of East Haddam and Moodus.  There are areas that have mailing addresses in Colchester, Hadylme and Salem that may fall within the East Haddam District.  Please check with the East Haddam Tax Collector to see if your property lies in this area.

Please note: Owning land or a business in the East Haddam district, does not qualify for residency for the purposes of enrolling students in East Haddam schools.

Upon initial enrollment or re-enrollment, the student’s family is required to show proof of residency.
Acceptable proof of residency documents include:
~A fully executed rental agreement with occupancy dates
~Mortgage documentation (i.e. payment coupon)
~Sales purchase agreement with closing documentation with occupancy dates

AND any one of the following:
~Valid driver’s license
~Utility bill (gas, electric, heat, phone)
~Real Estate Tax Bill

Please note: An advertisement mailing is not considered an acceptable form of proof of residency.

If the family is going to be moving to the East Haddam District (either new construction, purchasing an existing home or renting), they must supply a complete copy of the contract and closing documentation. The contract must contain an anticipated closing date. If building a home, a copy of a builder’s contract for new construction with an anticipated occupancy date and closing date must be included. Copies of rental agreements must be fully executed by all parties and must include occupancy dates. If the closing or occupancy date on the closing documents, contracts or rental agreements is after the first day of school, the family must also request in writing to the Superintendent permission to enroll their student prior to the district being allowed to accept the registration. Families may be required to complete residency affidavits.

If you have any questions regarding the enrollment of your child(ren) please contact the Board of Education, 860-873-5090 and ask for the Superintendent's Assistant
